Have You Heard with Jim Pugh

In the summer of 2012 I attended the Skidmore Jazz Institute in New York where I had the privilege of working with some of my biggest musical heroes. In addition to coaching and classes with greats like Pat LaBarbera and Todd Coolman I was also able to study privately with Curtis Fuller and Jim Pugh.

While my time at Skidmore was brief, it left an astounding impact on me as a musician. Jim Pugh is one of the most caring people I have ever met. In every instance I have encountered him he approaches the situation with poise, professionalism, and positivity. His playing speaks for itself, but his teaching and generosity further solidify his reputation as one of my musical heroes.

Paige’s Music recently hosted a masterclass with another musical hero of mine, Richard Dole. One of the many hats Dole wears is that of the radio host. Along with co-host Matthew Altizer, Dole hosts a weekly jazz radio show entitled Have You Heard. Have You Heard airs every Wednesday evening at 9pm on 88.7 WICR, and it is available on various online streaming platforms.

As you might have guessed by now, Jim Pugh was a recent guest on the show.  Below are the links to use to listen to all 3 episodes.  Enjoy!
