Fall Instrument Rebates at Paige’s Music

If you’ve enjoyed your first year of playing and you’re ready to level up your music experience, it’s time to consider upgrading your instrument.  Manufacturers build student level instruments to be durable and easy to play. This is great for a new player but can hold back progress of progressing players. Step-up instruments have richer tone, improved range, new features and higher-grade materials.

Our partners Yamaha and P. Mauriat make stepping up a little bit sweeter with rebates on their intermediate and professional models. Yamaha is offering a rebate of $50 for intermediate models and $100 for professional models. P. Mauriat is offering $100 on models we currently offer!

Sean Imboden Jazz Clinic at Paige’s Music

I am excited to announce that Sean Imboden will be giving a master class here at Paige’s Music on November 19thfrom 5-6:30pm. I have known Sean for quite some time now and I can say that he is truly one if Indiana’s finest saxophonists on the scene. On top of being a phenomenal musician, he is a wonderful teacher that cares about each and every student he has.

In the masterclass Sean will be talking about the 12 bar blues form/changes and the various ways you can go about improvising over the 12 bar blues changes. This will be a great masterclass for people of all skill levels and instruments. There are so many applications for the blues and what better way to learn about it than from one of Indiana’s finest. I am very excited for this master class, so don’t miss it! Mark your calendars!

How To Playtest a New Saxophone

As you continue to progress as musicians, you will eventually outgrow the equipment you are using. Even if you feel like you aren’t ready to jump into an upgraded instrument, I highly encourage you to play test a step up or professional level instrument if you get the chance. Play testing a new instrument is a skill on par to sight reading: you might not necessarily do it every day, but the more you do it, the easier it will get!
